Want grammar? Deb Boyken’s got it! Every Mangled Monday, she spells out the rules and regulations of proper English. And the rest of the week, she shares her insights on writing. She also blogs about knitting (on her other blogs) so if you brandish a pen or a set of knitting needles (or both), she’s your girl, and she rocks!
We hear a lot about fiction, poetry, and freelancing. I think screenwriting often gets overlooked, which is why I’m thrilled that Jaden, who also happens to be one of my oldest and dearest friends (yes, in the other, non-digital world) gives us Screenwriting for Hollywood. She’s spent many years living and working in Hollywood so she’s got the inside scoop and tips for writers who’ve got their hearts set on the big screen.
Ellen Wilson is a photographer and a creative writer. What I love about Ellen’s blog are the many different topics she brings to the table. She talks about writing and freelancing and of course, photography, and she’s not afraid to tie these with other fascinating, intriguing, and important subjects. I’m impressed with all her knowledge and you will be too! And even though lots of her topics are serious, Ellen herself is a good time gal who knows how to have fun.
Karen Swim has a bounce in her step, I just know it! Few people can inspire with the spunk and charisma that Karen brings to each and every post she shares. First, she’ll inspire you to write. Then, you suddenly realize what you really want to do is write while you’re dancing on tables. Go on and kick up your heels and wave that pen in air!
When I think of Amy Derby, I always grin. She’s got a sly, wry wit. As I read her posts, I’m shaking my head with a big grin sprawled across my face. Amy encourages you to question, makes you think, and gets you to laugh. She’s a workaholic but don’t let that fool you. She’s got a huge heart!
Michele L. Tune, where would I be without you? She’s one of the first people I met in this crazy place we call the blogosphere and has been warm and supportive from the very beginning.
